Manulife Singapore claimed the coveted “Marketer of the Year” crown at the Marketing Excellence Awards 2019 having earned seven gold, two silver and four bronze trophies.
Four of the brand’s campaigns won first place, but it was the “#adulting” campaign that really stood out to the judges securing three of its gold titles in Excellence in Advertising, Excellence in Integrated Marketing and Excellence in TV / Video Advertising. The same campaign also secured one of its four bronze trophies in the Excellence in Brand Awareness category.
Its other winning campaigns were “God of Huat” and “Mrs Fortune Teller” that both took home one bronze trophy each; “Museum of Claims” which bagged two gold and one silver award; gold-winning “Signature Indexed Universal Life Launch”; and “Stop the Drama” which earned a full rainbow of one gold, one silver and one bronze win.
Coming in second place was DBS Bank which walked away with two gold, five silver and four bronze trophies for seven of its campaigns, including the successful “Beep Beep Ka-Ching!” which earned four of its 11 titles.
The Learning Lab came in third place with three golds and one silver trophy, just beating Changi Airport Group and Singtel which both put in strong performances and came in a joint fourth position. Other standout companies include UOB and McDonald’s Hanbaobao.
This year’s Marketing Excellence Awards event was held at the Shangri-La Hotel on 7 November. The event saw 500 industry-leading marketing professionals, from both agencies and brands, present from across Singapore.
Judged solely by an independent panel of respected industry experts, and updated each year with new categories that cater to the modern marketer, Marketing magazine‘s Marketing Excellence Awards has become the premier platform for brands to showcase their marketing excellence in campaigns across Singapore.
This year, the awards were judged by 41 senior marketers from leading brands including adidas, Coca-Cola, Deliveroo, L’Oréal, Philips, Prudential, Toyota and many more.
