BBDO’s chairman and CEO of the Americas, Troy Ruhanen has been promoted to the agency’s corporate parent Omnicom as an executive VP. In the new role m Ruhanen will be driving cross-agency collaboration across Omnicom’s largest clients.
Ruhanen will report to Omnicom CEO John Wren. Ruhanen was also the lead on BBDO’s billion-dollar AT&T account.
Currently there is no replacement for Ruhanens role. He first joined BBDO in December 2004. He took on the role of CEO of Americas in August 2011. Prior to that, he was deputy chairman of North America. Prior to BBDO, the Australian was managing director of Leo Burnett in Sydney.
According to Wren, Ruhanen’s “global experience in multiple categories including consumer packaged goods, auto, telecom, beverage and technology is perfect for the role” of strengthening relationships with big clients.
